Well, after months of planning, fundraising, praying, fasting, and telling little ones "we're getting closer" the time has almost come. God willing, forty eight hours from the time I'm typing this post all seven of the Moody tribe will be 35,000 above the Atlantic Ocean en route to Uganda. Excited, nervous, terrified, joyful, are all legitimate words to describe what we're experiencing right now. But I think I speak for every one in our family when I say that we can't wait to step onto that plane.
So first of all, we would like to say thank you. To everyone who has given their money to support us, thank you. To everyone who has donated their time and talents at one of our fundraisers, thank you. To everyone who has gone before God's throne in prayer on behalf of our family, thank you. To everyone who has given us an encouraging word, thank you. To our families and home church who have offered us more support than we could ever imagine, thank you. Words cannot express how grateful we are to each and every one of you.
The last few weeks have been exhausting. We have learned that while planning and working out the logistics of taking your family for a month to the other side of the world, life with five children still goes on. While trying to get bags packed, and finances lined up, and bills paid, dance recitals still have to be attended, school science projects have to be done, and the house has to be picked up. It almost got overwhelming at times......almost. But then God's faithfulness rears its beautiful head again, and He says "I brought you to this, and I'll give you what you need to get it done." And all of a sudden we find ourselves with bags packed, bills paid, beaming with pride while our beautiful little girl dances her heart out at her recital, and the another child comes home and says "Dad, my teacher thought my project was awesome!", and somehow the house isn't quite as messy as you thought. See, He is faithful, even when we are faithless.
So here we are. Two sleeps away from Uganda, and a trip that will no doubt affect the rest of our lives. We have no idea what God will do over the next month. We know that He is sending exactly where He wants us for this month in our lives. We know that once again, He has shown that He makes seemingly impossible circumstances look silly. We know that regardless of what happens, He is good, all the time. And we know that above all, He will be glorified in everything that happens.
