Day 11: Missions........

I love missions. I love everything about God's passion about caring for the least of these, and taking the Gospel to the ends of the earth, and making disciples of all people. The next two ladies featured on Day 11, are some I think you're going to want to get to know. They might seem like your average single adult, but everything about them screams nothing but average.

April Dooley and Brittany Pelfrey are two amazing ladies that I've come to know well. They're both taking a trip with a group from  Desperation Church in Cullman, AL to, you guessed it..... Jinja, Uganda in March 2013! They will be working with Sonrise Baby Home, helping to encourage the staff that takes care of the children. They'll be traveling to surrrounding villages to share the gospel and love of Christ to those who have never heard. They will visit many churches, local schools, and many Ugandan families in the villages.

"I have grown to love Uganda and it's people with a love that most days leaves me wishing I was back there sitting in the village...hot,dirty,and tired, but surrounded by a love and selflessness that some people go a whole lifetime without experiencing." ~April

April first went to Uganda in March of 2010. It was that trip that changed her life and grew her passion towards missions and orphan care. April is leading the team that's going this March and knows that God is in control, trusting that he'll provide the finances for the trip.

Brittany is one of the ladies going on the trip. She's never been to Uganda, but has been overseas on a mission trip before. I remember talking to her many times about Uganda, and her telling me she didn't feel like it was the right time....the time has come my friend! Brittany has been such a blessing to us, and I'm sure without her even knowing it. She has kept our kids on numerous occasions when we needed it most. She's even spent the night when we needed a night away. (Childcare is hard to come by when you have 5 kids)

So, where do you come in? Glad that you are reading. They need your donations to help towards their trip. When you donate towards their trip, you are just as much a part of the team going on the trip that are physically going on the trip. Without the help of others, their trip wouldn't be possible. You can make a flat donation to the address below. You can also buy these beautiful handmade bead sets from Uganda. The sets are $20, with $10 going to Mirembe Street Girls Home and $10 going to the ladies. That's a pretty good deal....helping two in one!

One last thing! If you make at least a $20 donation you will receive this AWESOME shirt designed by Brittany. Take note that you won't receive the shirt until the new year, but still an awesome gift. So in your check make sure to note your shirt size.
