Day 6: The West Family and Abaana's Hope

So day 6 is here.  Halfway done with our 12 days.  Hopefully you've already found some great ways to put your Christmas money to a more "long term" use.  Today we are highlighting another missionary family.  Myron and Holly West, and their two kids, Ryan and Rachel, currently live in Alexander City, AL, but in less than a year will be making their new home in Gulu, Uganda.  (I know, I know.  Uganda seems to be a recurring theme, huh?)

The West family will be working with an organization called Four Corners Ministries.  Four Corners is an amazing organization that is currently working primarily in Northern Uganda and Southern Sudan.  FCM ministers in these areas through education, emergency relief, evangelism, and orphan care.  The Wests will be working specifically with a project called Abaana's Hope.  Abaana's Hope in a nutshell, hopes to take in orphans, raise them in Christian homes with Ugandan "house parents", teach them and show them the Gospel daily, and raise up a generation of young Ugandans passionate about Jesus.  Learn more about Abaana's Hope here.

The West family will be the second full time missionary family in country.  Matt and Jamie East are currently in country working out some logistics and getting things moving.  (Yes, that's right.  It will be the East and West families.)  As with the Sanders family that we featured on the second day, the Wests are raising their own funds.  They will have one time moving expenses and also monthly expenses.  How can you help?  You guessed it:  GIVE.  You can do a one time donation or a recurring monthly donation or "sponsorship".  There are three ways you can do this:

This Christmas, consider giving to this incredible family as they go to the other side of the world to care for the least of these.  Pray that God will provide every penny they need for support and that the Gospel will be advanced in the darkest regions of Northern Uganda and South Sudan.
